Little Markov – Carlton Bar

Little Markov is a bar located at 350 – 352 Drummond Street, Carlton, just behind Cinema Nova. I was told about it once when I was heading out to the movies, and it’s such a great little bar that it’s become a necessary part of any visit to Cinema Nova.
I should note that there are two parts to the Markov venue, the bar known as Little Markov and the Restaurant known as Markov place. I haven’t eaten at the restaurant area yet, so I just wanted to write about the bar part only at this stage.
The bar itself is very comfortable, and offered a great variety of drinks. They are currently very proud of the mulled wine, a life saver during the Melbourne Winter. The bar staff are lovely each time I have been there, and are great to have a quick chat with.
Their bar menu is a bit fancy, with options like Chicken Liver parfait and Shredded Aylesbury Duck, which made for the first time in my life when I was deciding between chips or parfait. I decided on their charcuterie instead, which ended up being the perfect choice.
Overall, it’s a great little site, well worth a stop for a pre-movie drink!
Their website is here.
